The law regarding insurance coverage is complex and there is no substitute for experience, industry knowledge, and litigation excellence. Eyford Partners works closely with insurance companies to provide strategic advice and guidance in resolving coverage disputes.

Providing Skilled Legal Representation for Insurance Companies

Our lawyers provide comprehensive representation for insurers throughout all stages of coverage investigation. We assist clients with the issuance of reservation of right letters, preparing coverage opinions, and providing on-going file handling advice. We also represent our clients’ interests at mediation, trial, and appeals.

We take a pragmatic approach to resolve disputes as efficiently as possible and we will strategically assess all available avenues. Our Vancouver and Kelowna based lawyers are skilled advocates and often secure favourable outcomes through pre-action negotiations and mediation. Should a coverage dispute require a trial, our litigators have successfully argued cases at every level of court.

For example, our lawyers served as trial and appellate counsel to an insurer in a leading disability insurance case. This case established an insured’s duty to obtain reasonable medical treatment as a condition for continued disability payments.

Eyford Partners has a depth of knowledge in insurance law and coverage disputes, including:
