BIOGRAPHY

Andrew Schleichkorn is a civil-litigation lawyer based out of Vancouver. His practice includes commercial litigation, insurance defence, judicial reviews, product liability, and labour and employment. A skilled advocate, Andrew supports his clients through complex disputes, from negotiation to trial.

Andrew appears regularly before the Supreme Court of British Columbia and has appeared before administrative tribunals, including at the appellate level. He has experience defending a wide variety of insurance claims, such as personal injury and disability claims. Andrew is fluently trilingual and can provide legal services in Spanish, French, and English. He is licensed to practice law in British Columbia and Quebec.

In 2013, Andrew obtained his Bachelor of Laws Joint LL.B/JD Degree from the University of Montreal. After obtaining his Bachelor of Laws, he pursued further graduate studies and obtained his LLM in Common Law with a comparative thesis focused on product liability. In 2015, he completed his articles at a large national firm and began his career at one of the largest regional law firms in Ontario. He moved his practice to Vancouver in 2017.

    Springman v. Surrey (City), 2021 BCSC 1804, rev’d in part, 2023 BCCA 130. Evan Cooke and Andrew Schleichkorn successfully defended a multi-million dollar expropriation compensation claim filed against the expropriating municipality. Most significantly, the courts dismissed claims of ongoing business losses and damages predicated on lost real estate market opportunity.

    Peters v. Bird, 2020 BCSC 130  (under appeal). Counsel in a complex liability-only motor vehicle accident trial where identity and liability issues were seriously contested.

    Winick v. Goddard, 2020 BCSC 4. Counsel for several defendants opposing the plaintiff’s damages claim arising from personal injury, and secured a fair result.

    Glendenning v. Matwychuk, 2019 BCSC 1661. Counsel for the defendants disputing the plaintiff’s damages claim arising from personal injury, and secured a considerable result.

    Wiegert (Guardian ad Litem of) v. Rogers, 2019 BCCA 334. Counsel for appellant on appeal from an order dismissing an application to dismiss the action for want of prosecution.

    Dube v. Dube, 2019 BCSC 687. Counsel for the defendant disputing the plaintiff’s damages claim arising from personal injury, and secured a fair result.

    Vapor Line Inc. v. Vcan Business Solutions Ltd. (30 April 2018), Vancouver Registry No. S185233 (B.C.S.C.). Counsel for the petitioner on successful injunction application to restrict the respondent from evicting the petitioner from its commercial premises.
