Andrew W. Schleichkorn Discusses Insurance in the Wake of BC’s Flooding on CBC/Radio-Canada
Andrew W. Schleichkorn recently appeared on CBC/Radio-Canada on the show, “Phare Ouest: Les assureurs face aux inondations en C.-B.” (Phare Ouest: Insurers in the Wake of Floods in BC), to discuss insurance issues arising from the floods in Abbotsford.
In this interview, Andrew discusses his views on how property insurance may be impacted in British Columbia as natural disasters increase. Andrew states that many of those affected by the floods in Abbotsford may not have adequate or any coverage against overland water damage.
“On dit déjà que qu’il pourrait s’agir de la catastrophe naturelle la plus coûteuse de l’histoire du Canada,” says Schleichkorn. (“It is already rumoured that it could be Canada’s costliest natural disaster.”) Andrew expects court claims to increase considerably in the wake of the province’s flooding.
