Gina Addario-Berry is a Vancouver-based lawyer practising personal injury, employment and general civil litigation. Prior to joining Eyford Partners as a litigation associate, Gina articled at a full-service firm and worked as a summer student at a variety of boutique law firms in Victoria and Vancouver throughout her law degree.
Gina studied International Development, East Asian Language and Culture at McGill University, and after a one-year exchange to Kyoto University, successfully completed Level N1 of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test. Upon graduating from McGill University, Gina spent several years working in Japan as a Coordinator of International Relations.
During law school, Gina participated in a semester abroad at Utrecht University in the Netherlands, volunteered with Pro Bono Students Canada, and joined the Environmental Law Centre at the University of Victoria. She also served as an editor of the Appeal Law Journal and participated in the British Columbia Law Schools Competitive Moot.
In 2019, Gina’s article “Human Rights, National Security and the Rule of Law: A Complex Agenda” was published in the Canadian Journal of Administrative Law and Practice.
In 2020, Gina’s article “Emotion and Advocacy” was awarded the David Stockwood Memorial Prize and published in the Fall 2020 edition of The Advocates’ Journal.
Gina’s current interests outside of law include travel, dance, and Vipassana meditation.
Walls v. Ocampo, et al., 2020 BCSC 499. Counsel for the defendants in a motor vehicle accident for which liability was admitted. The court dismissed the plaintiff’s claim of $250,000 for loss of future earning capacity, and reduced the plaintiff’s non-pecuniary damages by 20% to account for her failure to mitigate her losses.View all of Gina's Cases
